Twenty Marines descend on comrade's South Tampa home

last month we told you about Mike Nicholson the South Tampa marine corporal who lost three limbs in a bomb attack in Afghanistan well the family needs a major home remodel to accommodate Michael's new physical challenges when he returns home and who better to start this project than his fellow Marines who live by the code leave no man behind they didn't today the small platoon of about twenty began the demolition needed to add a downstairs bedroom and bathroom for the injured marine most of the labor and materials for this project have been donated and the neighbors had no objection to the expansion of the ground floor of the house during the blessing of the project the family priest had good news for Michael's mother at the Bethesda Naval Hospital Michael did for laughs yesterday on his two prosthetics with two legs and he just got his arm yesterday she said he helped me cook dinner he was able to cut an onion I just feel it's our duty to give back to these guys I take very seriously the freedom that is protected by the men and women of our military and I think it's our obligation to do anything and everything we can to help them a corporal Nicholson will see the project for the first time when he comes home to Tampa for a visit possibly in January but it could be six months or more before he's well enough to check out of the hospital and check into his new remodeled home
