a Tucson community pitched in this morning helping military families and their kids get ready for back-to-school news for Toussaint’s Eric pink has the story it’s new at 5:30 inside this thrift store on the southwest side Saturday Air Force veteran Aimee Hannah Beck is appreciate the community’s kindness military families are picked up and moved everywhere and to not only have the the resources available when our kids may need them but to see that interaction between the community and the base population and to feel that support from the community it really helps us feel welcome when we may be you know hundreds or thousands of miles from home a Tucson chapter of the American Legion partnering with the 3,000 club and market on the move donating school supplies to military families Pam Boyer is the owner of the 3,000 club she also grew up a military brat I know how my parents struggle when they were in the service you know we don’t pay them what they’re really worth and they give us their all including their lives so to give back to something like this is most most important and very dear to my heart backpacks notebooks paper crayons and all the essentials to ensure kids are ready to be back in the classroom kids benefit from it immensely we’ve got a lot of airmen that are fresh out of high school new families young kids and this kind of thing really helps this is our way of thanking them for giving to us all the supplies not picked up this weekend will be directly donated to schools that are home to majority military families on the southwest side I’m Eric Fink news 4 Tucson
