SABATON – Great War (Official Music Video)

Where dead men lies I’m paralyzed My brother’s eyes are gone And he shall be buried here Nameless marks his grave Mother home, get a telegram and shed a tear of grief Mud and blood, in foreign land, trying to understand Where is this greatness I’ve been told? This is the lies that we’ve been sold Is this a worthy sacrifice? Great War And I cannot take more Great Tour I keep on marching on I play the great score There will be no encore Great War The war to end all wars I’m standing here, I’m full of fear, with bodies at my feet Over there in the other trench Bullets wear my name Lead ahead as the captain said and show them no remorse Who am I to understand What have I become? I do my duties, pay the price I’ll do the worthy sacrifice I know my deeds are not in vain Great War And I cannot take more Great Tour I keep on marching on I play the great score There will be no encore Great War The war to end all wars And feet by feet We pay the price of a mile here Though men are falling, we see heroes rise We face the heat As we are fighting until the dawn So follow me and we will write our own history Great War And I cannot take more Great Tour I keep on marching on I play the great score There will be no encore Great War The war to end all wars

  3. Lyric:

Where dead men lies I'm paralyzed,
    My brothers' eyes are gone,
And he shall be buried here,
    Nameless marks his grave.

    Mother home, get a telegram
And shed a tear of grief,
Mud and blood, in foreign land,
    Trying to understand.

Where is this Greatness I've been told?
This is the lies that we've been sold.
    Is this a worthy sacrifice?

    Great War!
    And I cannot take more!
    Great tour!
    I keep on marching on…
    I play the great score,
    There will be no encore,
    Great War!
"The war to end all wars"…

I'm standing here, I'm full of fear,
    With bodies at my feet,
Over there, in the other trench,
    Bullets wear my name.

Lead ahead, as the captain said,
    And show them no remorse,
    Who am I to understand?
    What have I become?

I do my duties, pay the price.
    I'll do the worthy sacrifice.
I know my deeds are not in vain.

    Great War!
    And I cannot take more!
    Great tour!
    I keep on marching on…
    I play the great score,
    There will be no encore,
    Great War!
"The war to end all wars"…

    And feet by feet,
We pay the price of a mile, here…
    Though men are falling,
    We see Heroes rise…

    We face the heat,
As we are fighting until the dawn.
So follow me, and we will
    Write our own history!

    Great War!
    And I cannot take more!
    Great tour!
    I keep on marching on…
    I play the great score,
    There will be no encore,
    Great War!
"The war to end all wars"…

  4. My Great Great Grandfather served in the Canadian 55th/60th Battalion (Now the Canadian 4th) I'm proud to know that even though I may not be able to serve my country that my family did their part to help fight for their countries freedom. Thank you to all serving and veteran members of our Armed Forces. If a veteran or currently serving military member is reading this I know I don't know you but I'd like to thank you all for your service. To those who gave everything for their country Lest We Forget. We will remember them.

  5. Nothing gets me more pumped in the morning, or in fact any time of the day than some MF SABATON!!!!!!! These guys are the shit

  6. The energy they have when they're just hanging out and so on is really nice. I actually watch this when I'm feeling lonely and it cheers me up. Thanks Sabaton 🙂

  7. Is this what metal has become? Oh dear…. I am sorry but this is a very unsophisticated sound if not plain boring in comparison to the what I grew up with in the late 80s and 90s. Music these days is crying for a new sound, something more creative than recycling stuff from the old days. I must be getting old 🙁

  8. The modern bards…they are not swashbuckles they don't pay for wenches to hide behind and look they are actually artists

  9. there was so much metal in this song that i could remake and entire army's work of armor and swords to reclaim the holy land

  10. can we all quicklyy salute the russians for this like they were fucking coughing up their own lungs and they still fought and fucking won

  11. Am I the only one who hears the chorus say this:

    THIS IS THE
    GREAT WAR
    GREAT WAR COMING
    THIS IS THE GREAT WAR
    GREAT WAAAR COME!

    FIGHT UNTIL THE DAWN!

  12. Can you make a song about Aníbal Milhais?

Please, PLEASSSE look into his story

He was a Portuguese soldier who fought bravely during the Great War (we Portuguese were the forgotten ally, even by our own goverment with it giving us barely any supplies). The man held off two german regiments with a Lewis gun during the battle of La Lys (better known as Operation Georgette or the Battle of Estaires in Britain) during the first day of Ludendorff's Lys Offensive. He literally saved thousands of lives by allowing the British and Portuguese to retreat safely. A SINGLE MAN! He even saved a Scottish medic from drowning who later told the Allied command of his feats. His commander even made a pun with his name. Aníbal Milhais is known as "Soldado Milhões" here in Portugal. "Tu és Milhais, mas vales milhões!"

(You are Milhais, but you are worth millions!) (millions=milhões)

This man is a WW1 legend.

  13. "I do my duties, pay the price
    I'll do the worthy sacrifice
I KNOW MY DEEDS ARE NOT IN VAAAIN"
That kind of hits hard when you think about how another war started just 20 years after

  14. Such good goys to kill eachother in two world wars and then give the chosen a country. You have served the chosen well

  15. I wish if you could make a song about battle of siget where 2000-3000 croats and hungarians defended a forrtres agains 100000-300000 turks.Defenders killed about 30000 turks and delayed atrack on wiena and Suleiman died in that batlle. In the last charge almost all defenders were killed althoug few were sparred by janniseris who admired them for their courage.

  16. When the Music and the rythm said: MARCH STRAIGHT INTO THE WAR! FIGHT AND DIE!
But the Text says: DON`T STRAT OR STOP THIS MADNESS!

  17. "The war to end all wars"
    Hitler: laughs in painting
    Hirohito: laughs in kamikaze
    Mussolini: laughs in spaghetti
    Stalin: laughs in gulag
    Churchill: laughs in cigar
    FDR: laughs in wheelchair
    De Gaulle: laughs in surrender

  18. It would be awesome if sabaton made a stop in Hawaii i'm stationed there and I would love to see them in concert
