Rutgers MBA: Learn to transition from military life to a civilian career

So I chose Rutgers Business School
because I had an opportunity to come home to the East Coast and I needed to
partner my experience in the military with some corporate and civilian
knowledge and the Business School was gonna be a great opportunity for me to
well round, or round off my resume in preparation for finding my next
career. I’m still active duty in the United States Navy. My intent is to
graduate from Rutgers, retire, and then move on with my civilian career. My
concentration of study here at Rutgers Business School is the Technology
Commercialization Innovation Entrepreneurship program. I was attracted to this because there’s been many times where I’ve seen people develop ideas, and
start a company, and become successful, and I wanted to dive into that and learn
the tools because I do have some ideas. And, in fact, I started a company with my
brother already, so I’m putting those ideas to use that as we finished up this
last semesters. Having been in the military for over 20 years I have a lot
of experience with decision making and managing resources, but not in the
business environment, and the MBA program has done a very good job, I think at
prepping me to be able to talk with the same language that my interviewers are
going to be talking when it comes to the moment where I’m sitting across the
table looking to get hired for a job.
