Royal Military College Queen’s Birthday Parade

Royal Military College Queen’s Birthday Parade

So today’s parade is an annual event the
Queen’s Birthday Trooping of the Colour and we do it to pay our respects to Her
Majesty on her designated birthday and we also do the Trooping of the Colour as
a long military tradition, which is all about identifying the colours to which we
are loyal and which are an inspiration. Governor-General would always be present for the Queen’s Birthday parade but on this particular occasion, it’s his last
event in uniform and his last event at Duntroon, so he’s had a long heritage
linkage with Duntroon from his own time as a Staff Cadet, as Commandant and
there’s a thousand parades and events functions and the like ever since, so
this was an opportunity for us to pay our respects and wish him well.
