G FIRE. FROM THE OUTSIDE, THE DAMAGE DOESN'T LOOK SO BAD. BUT JUST A GLIMPSE INSIDE, >> IT'S HEARTWRENCHING, I MEAN, YOU KNOW, GREAT PEOPLE THAT DO SO MANY GOOD THINGS AND SOMETHING LIKE THIS, THIS IS THEIR LIFE, THIS IS THEIR FOUNDATION. REPORTER: THE VALLEY SUPPLY HARDWARE STORE, A LANDMARK IN RISING SUN CAUGHT FIRE JUST BEFORE 1 THIS MORNING ACCORDING TO FIRE CREWS. THIS LOCATION WAS BUILT JUST 16 YEARS AGO, BUT THE BUSINESS HAS A 50-YEAR HISTORY. CUSTOMER MICHAEL MATHIS CAN'T BELIEVE THE DAMAGE. >> THIS IS A SMALL COMMUNITY AND THIS IS KIND OF ONE OF THE STAPLES OF THE COMMUNITY, IT'S BEEN HERE SO LONG G. REPORTER: SEVERAL FIRE DEPARTMENTS FOUGHT THE FIRE FOR AN HOUR AND A HALF. NEARLY EVERYTHING INSIDE IS CHARRED OR MELTED. FIRE CREWS SAY TEMPERATURES INSIDE REACHED 1600 DEGREES. THE HEAT CAUSED SPRAY PAINT AND OTHER COMBUSTIBLES TO EXPLODE, FUELING THE FLAMES. LUCKILY NO ONE WAS HURT. >> THEY'RE THE TYPE OF PEOPLE THAT WILL REACH OUT AND GIVE ANYONE THE SHIRT OFF THEIR BACKS AND NOW YOU KNOW, THIS IS GOING ON WITH THEM. REPORTER: FIRE CREWS SAY THE BUILDING'S FRAME MAY BE SALVAGEABLE, BUT THAT'S NOT CLEAR YET. VALLEY SUPPLY'S OWNERS SAY THEY'RE GRATEFUL FOR THE COMMUNITY'S SUPPORT IN A TIME THEY NEED IT MOST. >> THE OWNERS SAY THEY'RE JUST TRYING TO FIGURE OUT WHAT TO DO NEXT AT THIS POINT. IT'S NOT CLEAR IF THEY'LL EVER BE ABLE TO MOVE BACK INTO THIS BUILDING OR IF THEY'LL EVEN REBUILD.
