long waits for new items to the army's central issue facilities the main supply distribution center for soldier equipment may be a thing of the past the Michigan Army National Guard tested its new mobile CIF concept with fielding of new equipment for the 177th MP brigades mish tilapia in support of operations Silver Arrow the first of its kind operation reduced the time from request to issue for the 177th from six months to two weeks Captain Thomas vandenbosch is the state's CIF manager and credits the program success to his people I've never seen it go that quickly before so it was pretty impressive on the MGB level and then for us to get the gear last week wednesday and being able to issue it on monday again attributes to my staff being able to process it that quickly such rapid fielding allows short notice missions like this to begin on a good note oh it's kind of exciting crack open some new stuff get ready to use it the same way when they went to Afghanistan you know get the whole new box of gear and ready to set it up figure out everything works so felt like Christmas additional staffing at the federal National Guard Bureau level and rapid responses from unit level supply personnel also made this mission to success for the Michigan Army National Guard I'm captain Doug Hollow
