Fiesta Medals 101- Marketing Your Brand

Hello, and welcome to Fiesta Medals 101 – this
is part 4 of a 4 part series on the “Four ‘M’s of Fiesta Medals”. Today, I’ve saved
the best for last! And that is MARKETING YOUR BRAND. That’s the biggest “M” in designing
your Fiesta medal. Now how important is brand marketing? Well, let’s look at what some of
the top Fortune 100 companies have done with their brands. When you see these logos, do
you recognize the company? McDonalds, Apple, Nike — of course you recognize those brands
because those companies have done a fabulous job of getting their brand out to the people
– marketing their brand. Now – Fiesta medals are truly nothing more than a promotional
product. A promotional product is anything you can put your logo on. A cup, a pen, a
Koozie, a hat, a keychain. Fiesta medals are a type of promotional product. So using them
for marketing your brand is a great way, in San Antonio, to get your name out to the community.
We have a very targeted audience – San Antonio – and we have a very small window to market
our brand – that is a 2-week period in April. But by putting your name out to the community
during Fiesta, you are sending a powerful message to San Antonio – we are part of the
community; we are part of the “Party with a Purpose”; we invest our time and money and
energy in San Antonio. It’s a great way identify your business with San Antonio customers.
So let’s look at some examples of marketing your brand using a Fiesta medal. Probably
the best one we have from last year is the San Antonio Spurs. If you look at the San
Antonio Spurs’ Fiesta medal – what do you notice? Well, they have obviously done an
amazing job of branding their organization. You don’t see the San Antonio Spur’s logo
– you don’t even see the San Antonio Spurs secondary logo, which is just the spur. You
see the Spurs’ mascot – the Coyote. But the minute you see the Coyote, what do you think?
San Antonio Spurs basketball! And, of course, this was the number one Fiesta medal last
year. Both in winning awards and in sales. Number one medal. Great, great job of marketing.
But let’s say you’re not the San Antonio Spurs – because you’re not. So let’s talk about
how you’re going to use a Fiesta medal to market your brand. The first thing suggest
is making sure that your logo is prominently displayed on the medal. The logo design is
more important than filling your Fiesta medal with Fiesta things like pinatas, and confetti.
We need to make sure this is what we tell our customers, we want to help you promote
your brand and get your name out there. We want to make sure that it is prominent and
easily discernible when someone sees that Fiesta medal. So here are some great examples
of marketing your brand from our 2015 line of Fiesta medal for our customers. The first
one is Big Daddy Eats. What an amazing way to get his brand out into the community – making
a small replica of his food truck – with Big Daddy Eats’ logo right there. Another example
is the San Antonio Postmaster – very recognizable – not only the logo, but, of course, a mail
truck with Zippy looking out from behind the mail truck. This is a great way to brand the
Post Office. If you are considering a Fiesta medal as part of your 2016 marketing strategy
