Coat Drive for Lexington Salvation Army

Coat Drive for Lexington Salvation Army

My family was very touched on Tuesday
when Lex 18 reported on the Salvation Armys lack of warm winter clothing
and blankets. My kids and I started talking about old
coats and gloves that we could donate. We just couldn’t believe that the
Salvation Army only have one pair of gloves left? we know that Lexington has a heart of gold, that’s why we’re so proud to call
this city our home. So why aren’t more people donating? Well
that’s when we started reading the Facebook comments on LEX 18 story. People were commenting that they had
bags of the winter clothing that they could donate they simply had no way to transport
those items to the Salvation army. My husband came up with a great idea Lexington you have donations, we have
vans! We’re formulating a plan to pick up
donations of warm winter clothing and blankets from our Lexington neighbors
and deliver them to the people who need them this Friday Saturday and possibly Sunday we will be picking up donations and we
will deliver them to the Salvation Army on Monday morning at 9am. If you have items that you would like to
donate please fill out the form and let us know which pickup day works
best for you. In order to efficiently pick up items
from all over Lexington we’re definitely gonna have to map out our routes in advance so if you can fillout the form and give us
your information by Thursday night it 8 p.m. that will allow us to map out our
route for Friday morning. In order to stay up to date on this
journey please follow us on Facebook as we’ll be updating regularly.
