City of Tulsa holds first surplus auction of 2012



all new on to this morning looking to do a little shopping this weekend the city of Tulsa is holding its first surplus auction of the year today though is your chance to get a sneak peek at what's available janiers reporter dan Pearlman is at the surplus yard this morning with more dan well we've actually been taking a look around ourselves there are actually more than 1500 items as you can see over here that are up for grabs and some of them you won't be able to find at very many other places this is your chance to buy unused or obsolete city merchandise that is just not needed anymore that ranges from cement mixers told buses told police cars and motorcycles just to name a few things one thing that's different this year is the fact that the city will be sewing about 40 low mileage vehicles a consultant came in and said the city just didn't need them anymore so you could find a deal there one question though that many people have is where does the money go most of the fence from the merchandise goes back to the city's general fund which of course as you know is something that we always have to keep a close eye on some of the proceeds go back to the enterprise fund such as water and sewer so they can reallocate for those funds for use in that those areas to check out all of the items you can come down here to the surplus yard between nine and four today we're near Archer and Trenton the site it will also be open at seven thirty ahead of the sale tomorrow morning for more information on registration and some of the items available just follow the link from our website that's kjrh com live in north Tulsa Dan Rollman 2 News works for you
