  1. im so tired. but cant stop watcing. im 22 y/o male from new zealand and cant get over how pure and happy they look. i wish.. i dont know.. i wish i knew about this 22 years ago not 5 years ago.

i wish i was born in this time era. i wish so many things when watching this video. just great music i guess.. i get so sad watching this then seeing what my pairs think music is. even reading the oldies comments makes me so jealous. having those dreams. ive never had any dreams similar to them. nowdays with movies and internet. i already feel i know america and all other lands. i cant imagine what i would have thought of america in 1960. i guess thats the only thing i can dream. dream of the past. if you have taken time to read this im sorry. i just listen to songs like this and feel so out of place. i just needed to type something. thanks for reading i guess.

and now the song has finished for a 5th time and im sitting here speechless. i wonder if they ever thought there music would hold such power. even 51 odd years later and another 51 to come and another. who will remember todays artists in 50 years?

Edit: fixed my terrible spelling. still bad i know. 2 hours sleep. give me a break.

  2. This song got so popular in China by a famous movie ‘Chungking Express’ using it as a very important BGM. I hope the movie maker have paid you guys properly for such great music LOL.

  3. This & all of the music from the 60's & 70's & 80's beats any of the crap you hear today. If I could time travel back I would go in a heartbeat!!!

  4. When was this? There is a run away teenager in this video….following the band 10 years after. Is this Michelle?

    Looks just like her.

  5. Thank you so much! Excellent mix. so happy my kids love all this music as much as I do. I am so lucky I lived during what I call the golden age of music. So much meaning to the words then even more now! 2018 much love!!

  6. Funny how they had to mime their own songs back then, from a prerecorded record or tape. All because the sound systems were nothing like they are now… Boy how things have changed in just 40 some odd years? … Sure makes me feel old. But! I still love these songs. Thank you.

  7. These people look sweet and innocent, but they were anything but that. Most were drug addicts, and the lead singer went on to rape his own kid. Remember these types of people would go on to raise Gen X. A generation of neglected, abused kids who had to fend for themselves most of the time. For most of us the only connection we had to home was the key that hung around our necks.

  8. كل الشكر موصول لكار واي وفيلمه chunking express على هذي الاغنية
صار لي اسبوع اسمعها وللحين ما مليت منها

  9. I did this trip down the Coast on the 1 and 101 when I was 19… Time to get my 50+ year old butt back up the Coast.

  10. I love this song!!!

    All the leaves are brown
    And the sky is gray
    I went for a walk
    On a winter's day

    I'd be safe and warm
    If I was in L.A.
    California dreamin'
    On such a winter's day

    I stopped into a church
    (Stopped into a church)
    I passed along the way
    (Passed along the way)

You know, I got down on my knees
    (Got down on my knees)
    And I pretend to pray
    (I pretend to pray)

Oh, the preacher likes the cold
    (Preacher likes the cold)
    He knows I'm gonna stay
    (Knows I'm gonna stay)

    Oh, California dreamin'
    (California dreamin')
    On such a winter's day

    All the leaves are brown
    (The leaves are brown)
    And the sky is gray
    (And the sky is gray)

    I went for a walk
    (I went for a walk)
    On a winter's day
    (On a winter's day)

    If I didn't tell her
    (If I didn't tell her)
    I could leave today
    (I could leave today)

    Oh, California dreamin'
    (California dreamin')
    On such a winter's day
    (California dreamin')
    On such a winter's day

    (California dreamin')
    On such a winter's day
    (California dreamin')
    On such a winter's day

  11. Probably the most mistaken line in any lyrics, it’s “you know the preacher lights the coal” not “likes the cold”.

  12. I remember the 1970s like it was yesterday… The black light posters, incense and the smoke from the water pipe filling the room while the Mamas & The Papas played on the record player. We were all so stoned and young.

  13. I still love Cass Elliot of the mamas and the papas , I am 57 and remember you singing way back , still listen to this day , R.I.P.Cass Elliot

  14. @@listen to more music of the mamas and the papas>>>

  15. The blonde is Michelle Phillips and she has been in a ton of films (one of my favorites is Dillinger from 1973) and is still acting today. Man what an iconic and haunting melody.

  16. This DMV Employee from California slept 3 hours per day on her job for 4 years, and a yahoo commentator said "California Dreaming." I genuinely laughed. What a classic song.
