bushcraft kit..surplus pad

hi guys its blanket with shamans for bushcraft with a little bit of surplus gear for you now I picked this up last November and I've used it on a couple of winter camp outs and things and you know I've been impressed with it and I thought I'd share it with you now it's a sleeping mat and sleeping mats have a huge advantage when carrying because they insulates you from the ground so it's less time you got to do of gathering to build a proper mattress which what I like to do here in my south is I will gather up dry excuse me broom sage or pine straw or grasses or something and make me a bed and then put my pad over the top of it and it makes a very fluffy comfortable bed it also is a great your grounds wet pad to put it down the place that you want to sit down for lunch or whatever and usually I use the round mats that you know what the military had or a thermal rest type mat and back years ago when I was backpacking and thermal rest was just getting started they came out with a Zippo pad and I've never had one you know they looked yeah okay but I always thought they were too thin this pad was military-issue I'm not sure of which branch of the military but the gear that I was around at the time was Marine Corps so I'm thinking it may have been Marine Corps it's got a department service number on it but this pad is a ability one thermal wrist and numbers on it are eight four six five – 0 1 – six zero six – eight seven five six of Pioneer Danville Kentucky this is a good piece of kit not only is it a good comfortable sleeping mat the way they see folded this thing up is what impresses me the most because it just turns in seconds and it's got these loops already attached something I used to do on something else years ago a pad that's it ways I would guess a pound and a half and it'll balance on the finger and the way it sleeve folded it gives it much more ability than just a regular thing because since it is the folded I can turn it into any kind of configuration I want on the fly just by flipping around the Z's so if I want to make it a thick pad to sit on that's short but thick like being on snow or big old rock I can I lay it out full length or like dozen times recently when I was doing a a winter camp out me and a friend I built the ground bed and then what I did was I took this and doubled it back so it only reached from my shoulders to just below my hips like that double thick that's comfy I mean you've got that much a half-inch to at least a half inch of good soft foam pad but it's not soft okay I don't you get the wrong idea it's a dense foam but it gives well some of the hard foam pads they've come out with in the past you get it there to sit down on them and yes they're hardened it's like laying on concrete because it is so hard a foam this does contour to your body it does give like it's supposed to but it springs back fact this was used in surplus and I picked it up for $10 at a gun show I'm impressed I really am guys so in passing on the knowledge if you were looking for some sort of pad to add your kid bushcraft going on camping these give you a great deal of versatility not only is it a ground pad a sleeping pad a wet sitting you can also very easily since this thing Xiphos you can stand it up as a windscreen whenever you're going to be doing cooking or something and I just need a little bit of a wind screen right here well I'm doing my photography and I need something to not my videography I need something not wind off of my camera so it's not roaring so much this is very handy I mean it weighs nothing and it packs up in an instant so I thought I just pass on this little super trick to you like I said if you're looking for something this would be a good piece of gear I'm blacking for shamans forage bushcraft wishing you safe journeys have a great day guys
