THERE WERE VETS FROM DIFFERENT
GENERATIONS AT TODAY’S EVENT. BUT AS MTN’S MEDERIOS BABB TELLS
US… THE GOAL ISEDUCATI
THE YOUTH. VETERANS FROM VARIOUS
GENERATIONS GATHERED INTO
THE AUDITORIUMWHILE RECEIVING A STANDING OVATION FROMBELGRADE
STUDENTS… THE AMOUNT OF
CHEERSAND APPLAUSEIS JUS
ASMALL WAY TO SAVE THANK YOU
FOR THOSE WHO RISKED THEIR LIVES
FOR FREEDOM. SENATOR STEVE DAINES BELIEVES THERE SHOULD BE
AN EVENT LIKE THIS IN EVERY
SCHOOL AROUND THE STATE. “I will tell you these veterans
here today, they are tough, you
could see a few tears
in their eyes today because of
what the students here in
Belgrade did to honor them.”
STUDENTS AND VETS SAT IN AWE AS
THEY TOOK IN SONG AN
SPEECHES THROUGHOUT THE DAY…. WITH HOPES OF TEACHING THE YOUNG
GENERATIONS WHAT IT MEANS TO
SERVE FOR THE
UNITED STATES. KEYNOTE SPEAKER
AND PURPLE HEART RECIPIENT
CHARLES GATLIN SAID IT WAS HUMBLING TO HEAR THE STUDENTS
CHEER FOR NOT ONLY HIM BUT FOR
THE VETS THAT SERVED BEFORE
HIM
“Impicit upon us to remember
them, honor them and to carry on their legacy. They did it before us so it is
our job to do it now. and once i
am gone here before to
long it will be the younger
generations turn to fill the gap
for me.” AND FOR VIETNAM VET BILL
LOCKHART ITS EVENTS LIKE THESE
THAT MAKE
PEOPLE MORE A LIKE AND LESS
DIFFERENT. “We all share something in
common. Even though we all
didn’t work together at
the same time it is like having
a best friend. You were born at
seperate times i different hospitals together and
went to different schools
together but you are
still best friends.”
